Step Up and Get Your Family Walking!

The last 10 school days of May, (May 15 -May 30) have been declared Healthy Steps Days at Palmyra Elementary. Our goal is to get the entire community of Palmyra walking during that 10-day period. We hope to enlist parents, students and entire families in our effort.

Keep your eyes open for further announcements that will tell you how you and your family can join in the effort to become or stay healthy by walking.

Over the Counter Medications Given at School

In order for the school nurse to give ANY OTC'S, a written order from your child's doctors office must be on file each school year. So, if you child has chapped lips from the cold weather or itchy skin, or a sun burn in the spring a current order needs to be on file. Please ask your child's doctor to complete the OTC form and return to the health office. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school nurse at 597-6609 or call the new number 597-3400 x4126 to leave a message.

Battle of the Books

We wrapped up a great season of reading with this year's Battle of the Books! We'd like to thank all the participants who spent many hours reading all twenty books and memorizing the authors' names. All the teams did a phenomenal job of answering very difficult questions.

Congratulations to the 2008 Battle of the Books Champions: The Reading Raptors

Team members included Louis Voss, Kevin Haschmann, and Elias St. Thomas

Congratulations to the 2008 2nd Place Battle of the Books Team: The Rockin' Readers

Team members included Jordan Hurlbut, Julia Hauf, and Sydney Gagliano.

Both teams played phenomenally in front of the entire 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes!

We're proud of all of you!!
